We are conveniently located 5 miles from Rapid City and 14 miles from Mount Rushmore on Mt. Rushmore Road / US-16 W.

From I-90, Exit 61,
Rapid City, South Dakota

  • Take the SD-79 S exit, EXIT 61, toward US-16-TRUCK/MT. RUSHMORE/CRAZY HORSE.
  • Turn LEFT onto US-16 TRUCK W/SD-79 S/N ELK VALE RD.
  • Follow US-16 TRUCK W for 9 miles.
  • Turn LEFT onto Mt. Rushmore Road/US-16 W and go 2.4 miles to the bottom of the hill.
  • Entrance to Happy Holiday is on left hand side of road, Reptile Gardens is on the right. You can turn in at any of three different driveways.
