CLAL FACULTY LISTED IN NEWSWEEK

Recognized as Some of America’s Most Influential Rabbis for 3rd Straight Year

Naming the top 50 most influential rabbis in America, Newsweek magazine listed a virtual "Who’s Who" in its April 4th edition. CLAL faculty, including Co-President Rabbi Irwin Kula, Co-President Rabbi Brad Hirschfield, and Senior Associate Rabbi Joseph Telushkin were on the list, as were former Teaching Fellow Rabbi Daniel Brenner and rabbinic intern, Rabbi Elie Kaunfer. A complete list is available in Newsweek’s online edition: http://www.newsweek.com/id/192430/page/1.

Compiled by Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO and Chairman Michael Lynton, News Corporation Executive Gary Ginsberg, and JTN Productions CEO, Jay Sanderson, the list brings together a variety of leaders from the full range of denominations. Criteria for the selection included such issues as: Are the rabbis known nationally/internationally? Do they have political/social influence? Are they leaders within their communities? Have they made an impact on Judaism in their career? Have they made a greater impact beyond the Jewish community and their rabbinical training? A scoring system was used for the final evaluations.

We congratulate all of those on the list. It is through their leadership and innovation that we can build a brighter, more dynamic American Jewish future. .
