Unexpected Insights: Jewish Wisdom for Challenging Times

In these uncertain times, how to cope and find hope while grappling with the challenges is a question on everyone‘s mind. Many are searching for new ways to move forward, recognizing that the past will not provide a clear road.

On Monday, March 23, from 4:30-5:30 pm, CLAL Director Rabbi Tsvi Blanchard, Ph.D. will lead a new interactive program for CLAL supporters. Called Unexpected Insights: Jewish Wisdom for Challenging Times, it will use a new format of text study via conference call. Drawing from a story in Exodus, Rabbi Blanchard will explore with participants how to connect with their own personal stories to create a more meaningful and successful life. The group will look at ways of responding to the economic crisis and loss, and learn how to help others find faith and inspiration in tumultuous times.

Building on CLAL‘s successful track record using distance learning with a group of rabbis involved in social action programs, it is now exploring new ways to reach constituents drawing on Jewish wisdom. Through this format we can touch many people, offering learning and teaching about the topics on their minds, said Rabbi Tsvi Blanchard. "With all the challenges going on in the world, the more relevant we can make the insights of our traditions, the more we can provide useful tools for navigating the tough times." To participate in Unexpected Insights, contact Dale Brown at dbrown@clal.org, or phone 212-779-3300, ext. 104. She will email you an access code.
