Mystical Receiving: Kabbalat Shabbat at The New York Open Center
83 Spring St., NYC
February 27, 7:30-9:30 pm

"Sabbath is a sanctuary in time," wrote Abraham Joshua Heschel. "It is a day on which we are called upon to share in what is eternal in time, to turn from the results of creation to the mystery of creation, from the world of creation to the creation of the world."

In this spirit, Rabbi Sigal Brier, CLAL’s Director of Rabbis Without Borders, will share mystical teachings and insights from Kabbalah on the spiritual aspects of the Jewish Sabbath at the New York Open Center – New York City’s leading center of holistic learning and world culture for more than 25 years.

Leading participants in Hebrew chanting and meditation to enter this "sanctuary in time" together, she will help people tap into their inner core, integrating Jewish teachings with spiritual practice.

Shabbat is a time of retreat and renewal for the soul during which we have the opportunity to reawaken ourselves and perceive with unbounded awareness a sense of joy and peace. This program promises to offer participants a feeling of greater openness and rejuvenation in their lives. To register, the cost for members is $18; for non-members, $20.
